Obesity is measured in terms of the body mass index. The body mass index or BMI is calculated by calculating the weight of a person by the square of his height. It can be pointed out here that most of the popular weight loss diets like the Atkins diet, Mediterranean diet, South Beach diet and other low carb diets are marketed along with certain cookbooks which some of the recipes that may be prepared and consumed as a part of the weight loss program. One can also add spices in limited quantities and use herbal oils along with dressings on vegetables and meat to make the food preparation more attractive and interesting apart from ensuring weight loss.
